Cose to attractions, just across the Ravenelle bridge.
Outside cleanliness should have been better.

Carb loaded free breakfast was predictable and held in a small common area, but outside seating was available by the pool and on the small deck. Major party bars across the creek. The shrimp boats remained at dock, even though it was beautiful weather. The only fishing boats to move were the charters. ...read more

We loved the water view from our balcony...well worth the extra money.
The pillows were horrible...but aren't they always. Beds seemed a little worn out.

The Shem Creek Inn was a nice hotel. You can tell from the outside that the hotel has been there many years, but the inside appears to have been renovated recently. The staff at the front desk was pleasant and helpful with local restaurants. The hotel is sandwiched between 2 restaurants, plus two across the creek. Even though the night life was quite active, probably lasting until 1 AM, if not later, we never heard the noise from our room, which faced the creek. Shem Creek adds a nice addition to the hotel. It was neat to watch the boats float by...not to mention seeing dolphins every once in awhile! Parking was never an issue..they even have a small parking garage located under the hotel. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. ...read more

The location. It's 10 minutes to downtown Charleston or 15 minutes to the beaches on Isle of Palms. There are 2 great restaurants on either side
Palmetto bugs, Noisy bar just next door and staff is just not friendly.

Overall the hotel is overpriced. You pay for location. The rooms themselves are alright, the staff is not that friendly (although they did answer our questions) and the continental breakfast was basically out of food by 9AM. ...read more

Location, bed was very comfortable!

Lots to do right at hotel. Great dining next to hotel, kayak rentals, we kayaked the marsh with the dolphins. Nigh life. The bed was so comfortable; we wanted to take it home with us.

Proximity to tourist attractions.
Close to loud bars (not a problem if on parking lot side of hotel).

The view overlooking the marsh and cooper bridge.
No
AC in the hallways, hot.

Enjoyed our stay, surrounded by nice rest and on the inner coastal waterway. Rooms were clean, hallways could use a little cleaning along with AC. Overall we had a nice time.

The staff was very helpful and friendly.
From the outside it looked kind of run down but inside was very nice.

When we first arrived it looked older but it was very clean and the young men on duty were very helpful to us. It was a little hard to find the entrance but we both liked this motel.

This hotel feels like a retreat! Away from a lot of traffic and staff is extremely nice!

This is a great place to stay, and it is a plus that it is not expensive. Loved it!

Location was perfect for both privacy as well as proximity to attractions.
We were able to hear people moving around in neighboring rooms very easily.

The Shem Creek Inn was a very accommodating hotel with very nice guest rooms and a great location for people looking for someplace tucked away from a busy area but also in relative distance to attractions. Very good for someone looking to engage in a fun night life with four restaurant/bars in close proximity. ...read more
